Obliquus Capitis Inferior
Region: Deep Spine

Origin: The apex of the spinous process of the axis.

Insertion: The inferior and dorsal part of the transverse process of the atlas.

Isolated function: Assists in concentric acceleration of ipsilateral rotation of teh cervical spine.

Integrated function: 
-Assists in eccentric deceleration of contralateral rotation of the cervical spine.
-Assists in dynamic stabilization of cervical spine.

Nerve Supply: Suboccipital nerve dorsal ramus C1.
